Management Server Cannot Be Reached Check Your Management Configuration and Try Again

  1. Default Smart Dashboard cannot connect to Management server

    Hi!

I installed R75.twenty management server on Windows 2008 R2. This server is management server for two security gateways/appliances based on Secure Platform OS. Now, when I effort to connect to Management server from Smart Dashboard on any machine on local or remote network, I get error

Connection cannot be initiated. Delight make certain that the server ten.x.x.x is upwards and running and that you are defined equally a GUI customer.

It works well but when I launch local Smart Console on management server.
I checked cpconfig for defined GUI clients. Likewise checked Implied rules and tin confirm that CPMI conection from GUI client to Management server is immune. In global properties accept control connections is checked.

Can information technology be problem regarding SIC connection between Smart Panel and Security direction server?
If anyone have idea how to solve this problem, please assistance.

    Best regards

    Dejan

There'southward no Windows Firewall on the box is there preventing the connection.

I accept it that the Direction Server and Gateway connectivity is correctly working?

I'grand having similar issue here. I've merely reinstalled R60 in VirtualBox and somehow I can't admission to SmartDashboard anymore. I was able to access it before. In that location is no network upshot as I can ping from SmartDashboard to Management Server and vice versa.
I'm able to admission the web access and found the GUI client is defined correctly.
Is there annihilation else I can do to ready this issue?

Brand sure the fwm procedure is up and running on the Security Management Server. Also check out the contents of the $FWDIR/log/fwm.elg file, if fwm is unable to beginning or is running only not able to have GUI connections y'all should see something in the log to that outcome. If fwm is up and running and you aren't seeing an indication of the problem in $FWDIR/log/fwm.elg then run these commands on the SMS:

    fw debug fwm on
(Try to connect with the GUI and watch it fail)
    fw debug fwm off

Now bank check the contents of the $FWDIR/log/fwm.elg file, you should definitely see an indication of the problem at that indicate.

If fwm is not running at all, run it yourself with debugging enabled like this:

    fwm -d

and observe the debugging output for clues.

    Hi,

I solved trouble changing gui-client file that is located at conf directory. I don't know why, but from some reason this file was not updated with content of cpconfig settings of GUI clients.
Additional matter that block connection to management server was Windows firewall. I just added two inbound rules that allow CPMI(tcp 18190) and FWlogg(tcp 257) connections.
    It'due south working at present.

    Thank you

Cheers ShadowPeak.com for your advice. Btw, I've rebooted both SmartDashboard and Management server, and somehow for unknown reason, I was able to connect dorsum to Management server via SmartDashboard customer.
